How to Keep Your Rose Bouquet Fresh?

A rose bouquet arranged at this sourcing standard will hold its shape and colour for 7 to 10 days with consistent care.

• On arrival — recut each stem diagonally by 2 cm under running water before placing into a clean vase - cutting under water prevents air entering the stem and blocking water uptake.
• Water temperature — roses hydrate best in cool water, not cold or room temperature. Change it completely every day.
• Re-trimming — every two to three days, remove the bouquet from the vase and recut stems before replacing. This single habit extends vase life more than any other.
• Guard petals — if the outer petals of any bloom begin to brown or soften before the inner petals, remove them gently. The inner bloom is intact and will continue to open normally.
• Ethylene sensitivity — roses are highly sensitive to ethylene gas. Keep them away from ripening fruit, cigarette smoke, and exhaust - all of which accelerate petal drop significantly.
